What Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including:
- Account information — your email address and name when you create an account.
- Payment information — when you purchase OzLevel Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We receive a transaction record including your email address and order number.
- Usage and analytics data — when you visit the OzLevel website or use the app, we collect data about how you interact with them, including pages visited, buttons clicked, session recordings, and web performance metrics. This is collected via PostHog. Anonymous visitors are assigned a temporary identifier; signed-in users have this data linked to their account.
- Support correspondence — emails you send to our support address, including any information you choose to include.
- App preferences — settings you configure within the app (such as ramp height and vehicle profile). These are stored locally on your device. If you are signed in, they are synchronised to your account. If you are not signed in, a copy of your settings may also be sent to our servers alongside your device identifier (see below) to preserve them across browser storage clears on the same device.
- Device identifier (anonymous trial) — when you open the OzLevel app for the first time, a device identifier is automatically generated from stable browser and device signals and hashed using SHA-256. This identifier is not linked to your name or email address. It is sent to our servers to provision your automatic 30-day Pro trial and is stored alongside the date and IP address of first contact, and a copy of your app settings at that time. This data is held in Supabase (Sydney, Australia — Oceania region). If you subsequently create an account, your remaining trial days carry over and the device identifier is no longer used to identify you — your account takes over. You may request deletion of data associated with your device identifier by contacting us at support@ozlevel.com.au.
OzLevel uses your phone's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope sensors to measure tilt. This sensor data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your OzLevel account
- Provision and manage the automatic 30-day Pro trial on new devices, using a device identifier (no account required)
- Deliver OzLevel Pro access after a verified purchase
- Send you transactional emails (receipts, account updates)
- Respond to support requests
- Analyse how the site and app are used, in order to improve them
We do not use your personal information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party.
Overseas Disclosure of Personal Information
Some of the third-party services we use store data on servers outside Australia. These services include:
- Supabase — account data, app preferences, and device trial identifiers (servers located in Sydney, Australia — Oceania region)
- PostHog — usage analytics and session recordings (servers located in the United States)
- Stripe — payment processing (servers located in the United States)
Before disclosing personal information to these overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using OzLevel, you consent to this overseas disclosure. If you have concerns about overseas storage of your data, please contact us before creating an account.
Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Account data is stored using Supabase on servers located in Sydney, Australia, which applies industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.
Session recording data held by PostHog is transmitted and stored using industry-standard encryption.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you

Cookies and Analytics
OzLevel uses PostHog, a third-party analytics platform, to understand how people use the marketing site and app. PostHog collects standard usage data including page views, page leaves, button clicks, web performance metrics, and session recordings. On the marketing site this data is collected for all visitors. In the app, PostHog additionally links usage data to your account when you are signed in.
PostHog assigns anonymous identifiers to visitors who are not signed in. These identifiers are stored in your browser using cookies and local storage. No advertising cookies are used. We do not use this data for targeted advertising and we do not share it with any advertising platform.
We have configured PostHog to automatically remove authentication tokens from any recorded URLs before they are transmitted. We may use local browser storage separately to remember your app preferences and session state.
Children
OzLevel is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date below. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of OzLevel after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
