Sound familiar?

There's a right way to do this. Nobody tells you what it is.

It's not intuition. It's not obvious. It's a six-step sequence that most caravanners spend years figuring out — usually the hard way, usually at dusk, usually in front of their neighbours.

01

Unhitch first, then level. Sounds logical — it's not. The van shifts when the coupling goes and you're adjusting pitch with the jockey wheel at a skewed angle. Add twenty minutes.

02

Wind the jockey wheel. Up or down? By how much? Overshoot, wind back, check again. And when you pack up — you've got no idea where it started, so re-hitching is another guessing game.

03

All four corner steadies down. Climb inside. Still not right. Steadies all up. Re-level. Steadies down again. Welcome to caravan ownership.

04

Flying solo. Inch forward onto the chocks, jump out, phone says too far. Back in. Nudge it. Out again. Your neighbours have seen this before.

A caravan set up at a beautiful Australian campsite, perfectly level, awning out
📍 Somewhere beautiful in Australia

Cold drink on the way. Van level — side and pitch — first time, right order. No rework. That's OzLevel Caravan.

The right order, every time

Six steps. Guided. Done.

OzLevel Caravan walks you through every step in the correct sequence — the sequence most caravanners learn the hard way after years of doing it wrong.

1

Survey your site

Before you do anything. See current pitch and roll at a glance. Know what you're working with before the steadies come out.

2

Level side-to-side

Exact ramp blocks for your specific ramps. Exact millimetres per wheel. Which side is low. Whether your ramps are enough for the site.

⚠️ Most people do this in the wrong order
3

Then unhitch

Side level first — then unhitch. This is the step most caravanners do backwards. OzLevel holds you at this point until side level is confirmed.

4

Level pitch via jockey wheel

Exact millimetres of travel — wind up or wind down. Real-time feedback as you adjust. No guessing, no rechecking from inside.

5

Stabilise

Corner steady checklist before you step inside. Audio assist switches off automatically at this phase — nothing to rattle the neighbours.

6

Done — awning out

Setup summary shown. When you're ready to leave, Pack-Up walks you through the reverse — including checking steadies before you move.

Built for how caravanners actually camp.

🧭

The Only App That Guides You Through the Right Sequence

Every other caravan levelling app gives you a reading. OzLevel Caravan gives you a guided workflow — six steps, in the correct order, with the correct numbers at every stage. Side level before you unhitch. Jockey wheel after. Corner steadies last. This is the thing nobody tells you when you buy a caravan.

↕️

Jockey Wheel Travel in Millimetres

Not degrees. Not a vague indicator. Exact millimetres of jockey wheel travel required to reach level pitch — calculated from your specific axle-to-hitch distance. Wind it exactly that far.

🧮

Exact Ramp Block Count

Configured for your ramps. Shows the exact number of blocks to drive onto for side levelling. Flags when the site gradient exceeds your ramp capacity before you waste time trying.

🔗

Hitch Memory — Pro

Saves your exact hitch height when you unhitch. When you're ready to leave, the Re-Hitch shortcut tells you precisely how much to wind the jockey wheel to get back to tow-ball height. No measuring. No faffing.

🔊

Audio Assist — Pro

Rising tone as you approach level — one clear beep when you arrive. Eyes on the wheels, not the phone. Auto-disables when you reach the Stabilise phase.

🚛

Single & Tandem Axle Support

Handles both configurations. Includes an advisory when a single ramp piece is insufficient for tandem axle levelling — a common and easily avoided mistake.

📋

Pack-Up Checklist

Corner steadies must all be confirmed up before you can proceed. A simple checkpoint that's prevented more than a few expensive departures.

📡

100% Offline

Works in the Simpson Desert, Kimberley, Flinders Ranges — anywhere. No signal ever required. Hitch memory and recall work offline too, once you're signed in.

📱

No Hardware Required

No Bluetooth sensor. No mounting. No charging another thing. Your phone's sensors are accurate to about 15mm of rise — well within the ±3° your fridge and appliances need.

The only guided caravan levelling app

Every other option gives you a reading. Only OzLevel Caravan tells you what to do with it, in the right order.

We've heard these before

Should I unhitch my caravan before or after levelling? +
After side-to-side levelling — not before. Level the roll first using ramp blocks under the wheels, then unhitch, then use the jockey wheel to correct pitch. Unhitching first means the van can shift during levelling and you're adjusting the jockey wheel at an angle, which is both harder and less accurate. OzLevel Caravan holds you at the Side Level step until roll is confirmed, then prompts you to unhitch.
How does the jockey wheel travel feature work? +
OzLevel Caravan reads your current pitch angle and your axle-to-hitch distance from settings, then calculates exactly how many millimetres of jockey wheel travel are required to reach level. It tells you whether to wind up or wind down, and shows real-time feedback as you adjust. No more winding and guessing — you have an exact target.
What is hitch memory? +
Hitch memory is a Pro feature that saves your exact hitch height (as a pitch angle) when you unhitch at a site. When you're breaking camp and ready to re-hitch, the Re-Hitch shortcut tells you precisely how much to wind the jockey wheel to return to the correct tow-ball height — no measuring, no guessing whether it'll reach. It works offline once you're signed in, so it's available anywhere.
Does it work for tandem axle caravans? +
Yes. OzLevel Caravan supports both single and tandem axle configurations. When you're set up for tandem, the app includes an advisory if you've configured a single ramp piece — a common setup mistake that causes the ramp to rock under a tandem axle. Just set your axle type in settings and it's handled automatically.
I already have OzLevel Pro for my motorhome — do I have access to the caravan app? +
Yes. OzLevel Pro unlocks both apps — motorhome and caravan. Sign into the caravan app at van.app.ozlevel.com.au with the same account you use for the motorhome app and your Pro access carries over automatically. One purchase, both vehicles, forever.
Do I need to download it from the App Store? +
Nope. OzLevel Caravan is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — open it in your browser and add it to your home screen just like a normal app. No App Store, no Google Play, no waiting for approval. Works on iPhone and Android.
Does it actually work without internet? +
100%. The full guided wizard, all levelling calculations, and hitch memory recall work completely offline once you've loaded the app on a connection. Your phone's sensors don't need the internet — they work on gravity. Even signed-in features like hitch memory recall are available offline once you've authenticated.
What ramps does it work with? +
Any brand. You enter your ramp step heights in settings and OzLevel Caravan calculates based on your specific ramp dimensions. Camec, Tufway, generic blocks, Milenco 4-tier — doesn't matter. You can configure up to four step heights for ramps with multiple levels.
Will it work on my older iPhone or Android? +
OzLevel Caravan works on any smartphone made in the last 8–10 years. If your phone has a browser and a built-in gyroscope and accelerometer, you're good to go. iOS requires granting motion sensor permission once when you first open the wizard — the app walks you through this.
Do I need to pay to try Pro features? +
No. Every new OzLevel account automatically includes a free 30-day Pro trial — no credit card required. You'll get full access to audio assist, hitch memory, and the Re-Hitch shortcut from the moment you sign up. After 30 days, your account reverts to the free tier automatically. The free tier still includes the full guided wizard, ramp block counts, and jockey wheel calculations — no charge unless you choose to upgrade.
What if I'm not happy with it? +
Email us within 30 days and we'll refund you. No arguments. We're caravan and motorhome owners too — we'd want the same.
